UASSP has encouraged and built working relationships that are individually and organizationally unifying, strengthening, and invigorating to our profession., I have previously served on the UASSP Board as the Large High School Rep. and it was one of the most rewarding experiences of my professional career . It is an honor to be selected as a finalist for the UASSP President - Elect position.

      Large High School Representative

             Todd Quarnberg
       Copper Hills High School

I'm a small town, rural farm boy, from Scipio, Utah. I love hard work and clean air, even if it does smell a bit like cow manure. I received my Bachelor and Masters degree from Utah State University. My first job was teaching Biology to middle school students in Jordan School District. I have worked as an Assistant Principal at West Jordan, Hillcrest, and Bingham High Schools; spent three years as an Assistant Principal at Valley High School and then served as Principal of the Jordan Applied Technology Center. Currently, I am serving as Principal of Copper Hills High School. As a member of UASSP I hope we can pool experience and resources to make our schools a better place to work, and prepare our students for a highly-technical, changing world.

 Assistant Principal Middle School Representative

       Kevin Thomas
Pleasant Grove Jr. High

Raised in rural Michigan, I developed a love of the outdoors and enjoyed the privilege of participation throughut my youth. I have expanded an early love for education and have found great satisfaction in this field. I am happily married to Stephanie, my wife of thirteen years. We are the proud parents of triplets: Addie, Bryson, and Caitlan; Twins: Tanner and Emma; and finally Zoe.

Having taught inner-city students in North Las Vegas, students in the communities of Heber Valley, and having worked with students in South Jordan and Pleasant Grove; I have an appreciation for and understanding of the complexity of the middle level adult role. As an educational leader one must gain and maintain influence, this requires a disposition to serve; I have that disposition. I have the insight, experience, and understaning to represent the varied group of middle level assistants that so ably serve the students of our State. I hope to be able to employ my skills in yor behalf.

She has served on the UASCD board as President Elect, and President and is a member of UASSP.

I would like to represent the Alternative Schools on the Executive Board of UASSP to be a resouce to the board concerning the needs of at-risk students and alternative programs in the State of Utah. I have a background in curriculum, assessment, and instruction as well as five years experience working with at-risk youth. I enjoy working with my peers to develoip professional developement experiences that meet the needs of all levels in our profession. Serving and working with the distinguished principals of the State has opened venues for better practices both in the office and through intentional classroom leadership. I view serving as a path to rekindle the fire.
