The Utah Association of Secondary School Principals is a non-profit organization, whose purpose is to ever nurture and prize the vital leadership role of the secondary school principal in improving the quality of education for Utahs children. We strive to provide meaningful inservice opportunities and make available all research services. We encourage innovation and creativity in the principalship. We assist in the development and implementation of programs adopted by the Utah State Legislature. The Association is constantly striving to meet the inherent collegial and in-service needs of its members.
Our Association makes every effort possible to assist administrators in meeting these great challenges, by publishing newsletters and magazines. These publications contain topics sharing new ideas, along with tried and tested methodologies gleaned from colleagues and other professionals. Another very important method of providing valued inservice, is through conferences and workshops. These conferences and workshops feature special guest speakers presenting motivational materials, new trends in education or spotlighting institutions experiencing exceptional success with related programs. Conferences also provide needed opportunities for administrators to mingle and share their personal successes and challenges with one another.
Our organization publishes three newsletters and two issues of Impact Magazine each year. Special conferences are held for Secondary School Secretaries, New Administrators and Assistant Principals. Mid-Winter and Summer conferences are held for all of the secondary school administrators. The cost to publish written materials and to organize conferences, is generated from membership dues, registration fees and sponsorships.
The Association recognizes an outstanding Assistant Principal, Middle-Level Principal and High School Principal each year. These winners are then entered in national-level competitions sponsored by VIRCO and MET Life.
The Utah Association of Secondary School Principals is dedicated to excellence. We will continue to work hard to provide quality inservice for our administrators. We will be your representative and a voice in Legislative matters concerning education. Hopefully, we will assist you in making the difference for the students of Utah.
